Abdominal Wall Surgery and Ventral Hernias: Dr. Annibali was among the first Italian surgeons to perform inguinal hernia repairs with a prosthetic mesh under local anesthesia and on a day surgery basis. He initiated innovative cooperation between the Departments of Surgery and Anatomy while coordinating the Experimental Surgery Laboratory at Creighton University (Omaha, Nebraska, USA), leading to the identification of a critical anatomical area for laparoscopic hernia repair, known as the "Pain Triangle," now present in surgical manuals worldwide. He is also known for his research on the biological behavior of prosthetic materials in this field.
-
Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy: He has regularly performed diagnostic and operative endoscopies of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract for approximately 25 years. He has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel diseases, and intestinal dysbiosis. Dr. Annibali has developed an original program for the intestinal rehabilitation of fermentative dysbiosis, based on a special diet combined with medication (both allopathic and herbal) and hydrocolonic therapy. This protocol has shown promising results in restoring normal flora in approximately 80% of patients within three months, based on research studies and personal observations accumulated over 20 years and the treatment of around 1500 patients.
