Dr. Adriana Sarah Nica was a university professor at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, within the Discipline of Medical Recovery, having a special impact on the education and training of future specialists. Until October 1, 2024, she was a tenured professor at the university, and will subsequently continue her activity as an associate professor within the Doctoral School.
Clinically, she worked at the National Institute of Recovery, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology, where she held the position of head of section between 2000-2022. In this role, she managed and coordinated complex treatments in the field of medical recovery and sports medicine.
Education and professional training
Dr. Adriana Sarah Nica graduated from the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest, Faculty of Medicine, in 1978, obtaining a bachelor's degree in General Medicine. She followed a general medicine internship, gaining experience in various specialties, such as internal medicine, general surgery, ICU, orthopedics, gynecology, pediatrics and neurology.
Subsequently, between 1982 and 1992, she worked as a university assistant and resident physician within the Department of Physical Medicine, Balneoclimatology and Medical Recovery, where she obtained her specializations in Sports Medicine, Balneoclimatology and Medical Recovery. In 1990, she took the primary care physician exam in the field, obtaining a score of 9.77.
In 1996, she obtained her doctorate in medical sciences with the paper "Research on the effects and mechanisms of action of diuresis crenotherapy", thus demonstrating a constant concern for research and innovation in the field of medical recovery.
