Dr. Tiberiu Nicu Dogaru is a specialist in rheumatology, with a solid academic background obtained at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, where he graduated with excellent results.

During his 5-year residency in rheumatology at the “Sfanta Maria” Clinical Hospital in Bucharest, he completed multiple rotations in rheumatology and internal medicine departments, gaining extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and autoimmune diseases. 

He is currently practicing as a rheumatology specialist and continues his professional development through a second residency in radiology and medical imaging at the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital. This dual training allows him to adopt an integrated and in-depth approach to rheumatic conditions, correlating clinical manifestations with imaging findings. 

He also holds certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound, an essential tool for the accurate evaluation of joints, muscles, and soft tissues, contributing to fast and precise diagnosis.

Dr. Dogaru has clinical experience in the evaluation and treatment of both acute and chronic rheumatologic conditions, as well as in the management of autoimmune diseases, understanding their complexity and significant impact on patients’ quality of life. 

Throughout his career, he has participated in scientific conferences and professional events, presenting relevant clinical cases and research, including:

▪️ a case presentation on bacterial endocarditis in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus at the Romanian Society of Rheumatology Summer School

▪️ a scientific poster on subglottic stenosis in granulomatosis with polyangiitis, presented at the National Congress of Rheumatology

1. An important area of interest is represented by imaging findings in rheumatologic pathology, which is why he holds certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound. This allows the visualization of painful joint, muscle, or soft tissue areas using ultrasound, providing valuable additional information, similar to abdominal ultrasound, with which patients are generally more familiar.

He has also started a second residency in radiology and medical imaging, which enables him to better understand the various structural changes associated with rheumatologic conditions. This additional training provides him with the ability to correlate imaging findings with their clinical significance and to clearly explain to patients what their results mean and what is most relevant in investigations such as ultrasound, X-ray, CT scan, or MRI.
