Dr. Peter Molleney is a former lifeguard, a semi-professional football player and a swimmer. He studied traditional and complementary medicine, but also psychotherapy, and in 1988 he opened his own complementary medicine clinic in Essen, Germany. He recently brought to Romania new detox technologies, which we talked about to find out how it works, what benefits they have for health, but also how they can help us fight stress.
CSID: What can you tell me about this new detox technology? How does it actually work, what is different about it and what are the main benefits for health?
Dr. Peter Molleney: I'm a doctor and I studied complementary and conventional medicine and I come from performance sports. This was one of the reasons to look for a technology that I can use for prevention, but also to detect future illnesses. In this regard, we have developed a diagnostic tool that is based on electro-stimulation from one point to another in the body. When electricity can pass through the body from one point to another, everything is fine, but if it can not pass, something is wrong. This is the principle.
The difference between classical medicine is that we analyze the functional body, not the diseased body. Because whenever you go to a doctor, you do it because you are ill or there is a problem, and when you do not meet these problems you think you are healthy. We do the opposite. When electricity can not pass through the body, we say you're not healthy. We analyze and the therapy we bring is the one that helps bring you to the point where that energy can pass through the body. In Chinese medicine, energy has to pass through body from one point to another, and if that does not happen, it uses needles that make it pass. Of course, we do not follow this philosophy, but we work on the physical side. We have a device called Matrix, which is a combination of electrotherapy and bio-resonance, and in this way we move the toxins and eliminate them.
CSID: In your personal and professional opinion, how can a proper detoxification process be described?
Dr. Peter Molleney: We can not talk about a perfect detox program, but it can be optimized for the patient. The most common methods of detox are known from newspapers, magazines where everything is about a supplement you take, go to the toilet and you’re ready. The problem is not there, but in tissues that are found in the whole body and which function like a memory. When we do not delete this memory, it still exists. Which means that if this happened in childhood, the problem may also exist when you get older. If it was removed, it no longer exists. It's just like when you use your cell phone. Open an app and then close it, but it still runs. It's still open. And when this happens for a few weeks, the phone starts to work harder and the battery is empty. So you have to delete the application.
CSID: What are the main pathologies resulting from "poisoning" the body that can be treated using this concept of detoxification and rejuvenation?
Dr. Peter Molleney: I do not think there is anything that can penetrate the body and can not be eliminated. In this way, detoxification is always necessary as a basic aspect. It's not the only thing, but it's definitely one you can start with. When talking about chronic diseases, especially the ones manifested in the system and that can not be eliminated, detoxification is necessary. A cold passes in seven days, you do not need detox, but when you take antibiotics, it takes four to six weeks to eliminate them.
CSID: How can alternative therapies first against stress and how can they replace classic therapies?
Dr. Peter Molleney: Stress is the main problem of our lives. That's why we have to detox on the mental side because we work with both the body and the mind. We take into account brain frequencies, brain EEG, and each EEG (brain-electroencephalography) can be manipulated. We can train you to have a different EEG value because even when you sleep you train your brain because you have to go from alpha waves to delta waves. I can bring you to this point so you know how to produce delta where you are awake. This can reduce stress. Also, when the organs, the intestines do not work properly, you become depressed. When you eat healthy foods, you are not depressed. When you exercise, when you do sports, you are not depressed.
CSID: Let's speak a bit about sports recovery and holistic therapy. What are the benefits and how does it work?
Dr. Peter Molleney: We have a new problem in sports. All the people, and here we talk about performance sports, who come to the doctor are not only healthy. First of all, they can not practice sports performance if they are not healthy, but they always choose with injuries and the lesions are a consequence of the already existing condition somewhere in the body. Something is not working properly. But we can not analyze this with radiographs, but only with blood tests. So, we analyze the functionality of the body, and then we can tell you if there is a weak point and when you have to take care of that weak point so it does not turn into a lesion. Each muscle is distributed to an organ and, if the liver does not work properly, the chest will not work properly. When the intestines do not work properly, the legs can not function properly. 80% of people experience such problems and continue to do sports. Makes no sense. That's what we're trying to show our customers. We had a very good experience at AC Milan, because I did an analysis of the players, I took care of their injuries, and then they asked me what we can do to prevent them so I split them into two groups , one that followed our advice and another that continued to do the old exercises, and after two months, there were no injuries, while the other group continued to come up with such problems which made them want to come to the group our. We included everyone in our group, so AC Milan was in the Champions League with the oldest team ever to play. That was the result. In Hungary we used the same technique at FIFA and we analyzed the young players before they become professionals.
CSID: What can you tell me about the rise of alternative medicine?
Dr. Peter Molleney: I do not really like the phrase "alternative medicine." I would say we have complementary medicine that complements the overall picture, and then we have conventional medicine, a clinical picture of safe life. But if we look at preventive medicine, we need new perspectives of functioning.
CSID: I am convinced that alternative medicine comes with both advantages and disadvantages. Please give me a few on both sides.
Dr. Peter Molleney: Advantage, of course when detoxifying the system, is that you feel better, have more vitality, slow down the aging process, and cells can reorganize. This would be the positive effects of detoxification and, above all, the fact that the body can carry oxygen in a normal way. Side effects are minor because we are talking about electrostimulation. But these technologies can not be used when talking about a pregnancy or epilepsy, for example. And if they're used, it's wrong. There is normally no risk and can therefore be used for both children and the elderly. Does not matter.
CSID: What are the most common misconceptions people have about alternative medicine?
Dr. Peter Molleney: The benefit of the client is that when he uses detoxification he can make it a method of prevention, but also for chronic conditions. But the most important thing is to follow the doctor's advice. It is not just a result of the therapy itself. This is only the first step, but if the patient does not change his lifestyle, he will return to the old habits.
CSID: What was the professional impact of the experience of working with some of the biggest football teams - AC Milan and the National Football Team of Hungary?
Dr. Peter Molleney: Normally, when talking about performance sports, when athletes have a lesion, they are often given an injection of anesthetic effect and cortisol. The problem is that after the knee cartilage is damaged, new problems arise. Most performance players are retiring from the age of 30. So when we work with complementary medicine, we can reduce the use of these substances, and in this way we can maintain a good physical condition, which I think is the most important. Because health is something you can only have once. You can not buy another one.
