Between November 15-16, our team, consisting of Dr. Manela Udrea, nutritionist and naturopath Dana Nichita, together with me, Bogdan Prajisteanu, Founder & CEO of Quantica720°, had the honor of participating in Symposium24, the largest functional medicine and nutrition event in Italy, organized in Rome.
The main theme of this year’s event was hormones, metabolic balance and the complex relationship between hormonal health and pathology management. For two days full of valuable information, topics such as: hormonal axes and their influence on the immune system, the role of lifestyle and nutrition in maintaining hormonal balance, as well as the importance of microbiota in this delicate context were addressed.
The special guest of the event, Dr. Thierry Hertoghe, made an extraordinary contribution with his vast expertise in hormonal therapies. Practicing medicine in his family clinic in Brussels, together with his sister, Dr. Thérèse Hertoghe, Dr. Hertoghe represents the fourth generation of physicians working with hormonal treatments since 1892. He is the president of the International Hormone Society (which has over 2,500 physicians) and the World Society of Anti-Aging Medicine (with over 7,000 members), and is also the coordinator of two postgraduate programs dedicated to physicians.
Among the topics presented at the event, the following stood out:
▪️ The impact of hormones on endocrine dysfunctions;
▪️ The direct relationship between hormonal balance and the microbiome;
▪️ The influence of lipopolysaccharides on chronic inflammation;
▪️ The role of nitric oxide as an essential hormone for vascular longevity;
▪️ Supporting mitochondrial function through the triad: methylene blue, biophotomodulation with red and infrared lasers, and C60 (carbon 60).
We were delighted by the vibrant atmosphere of the event, which brought together professionals from all over Italy, but also by the practical value of the presentations, complemented by real case studies and immediately applicable to our professional practice.
The experience was extremely well organized, with a precise program, carefully selected sponsors and an atmosphere dedicated to promoting the health of the future. I had the honor of interacting personally with Dr. Thierry Hertoghe (left image), a world expert in hormone therapies for multiple pathologies, Dr. Pol de Saedeleersi and Dr. Tom O’Bryan, world-renowned experts, whose perspectives provided us with inspiration and new directions in our professional practice. During the conference, we also had the pleasure of meeting our colleague and friend Dr. Mihalea Orodan (right image).
