How is ozone bag therapy performed?

The bag is placed around or over the affected area, the outlet tube from the ozone generator placed through the top of the bag and the top sealed as efficiently as possible.

Ozone at the desired concentration must first be humidified (simply bubbled through water) and then enter the bag; the ozone generator works constantly during this treatment. The treatment time varies depending on the type of wounds treated, but usually varies between 10 and 30 minutes. After the end of the therapeutic procedure, the ozone in the bag is slowly evacuated.

What are the conditions for which the ozone bag is recommended?

Local ozone bag therapy is used in pathologies such as peripheral circulation, infected wounds, trophic ulcers, diabetic foot complications, subcutaneous tumors, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, bacterial folliculitis, tinea capitis, alopecia and baldness, burns.

In which cases is the ozone bag procedure contraindicated?
The ozone bag procedure can be contraindicated in the following cases:

1. Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism: People with uncontrolled hyperthyroidism should avoid ozone therapy, because ozone can stimulate thyroid function and worsen symptoms.

2. Intolerance to ozone: There are some people who may have allergic reactions or intolerance to ozone. In such cases, the ozone bag procedure may be contraindicated.

3. Coagulation disorders: Patients with coagulation disorders or who use anticoagulant drugs should be cautious about ozone therapy. This may have the potential to thin the blood and affect clotting.

4. Severe hypoxemia: Ozone therapy can increase the level of oxygen in the blood, and in cases of severe hypoxemia, this can lead to oxygen oversaturation, which can have negative effects on the body. In such situations, the procedure may be contraindicated.

5. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: The safety of ozone therapy during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not completely established. In these cases, it is recommended to avoid the procedure or to discuss the potential benefits and risks with the doctor.
